Acupuncture for a room. 针灸之于居所
Not fortune-telling — a way of reading a room. Where the light falls, where you enter, what a corner is for. Overlay the Bagua on your own floor plan, then compute a genuine Flying Star chart for your home.
Feng shui (風水, "wind-water") is the older name for something ordinary: arrange a space so the good things about it are easy to reach and the awkward things are easy to avoid. Two traditions read it differently.
Reads the shape of things — where you enter, sightlines, what sits behind you when you sleep or work. Common-sense and observable. Most of this tool lives here.
Reads direction and era with the 罗盘 (luopan) — a calculated layer where a building's facing and its construction period produce a chart. The Flying Stars below are this school.
Take what helps, leave what doesn't. An adjustment is a nudge — a lamp, a plant, a cleared corner — never a spell. Nothing here is meant to alarm you.
Nine zones, each tied to a life-area, a trigram, an element and a colour. Choose how to orient the map — to your door (the Black-Hat way) or to the compass — then click any zone to read it and its practical adjustment.
The hatched box is your home · the cinnabar mark is the door
The calculated layer. Give the home its construction period (元運) and the direction it faces, and the 挨星 method flies three stars into each palace — the mountain star 山, the water star 向 and the period star 運. This is real: the chart below is computed, not looked up.
Each number is a star with a temperament and an element. Their nature shifts with the era: in the current Period 9 (2024–2043) the reigning star is 九紫; 八白 is the wealth star just past its peak; 一白 is quietly rising.
